Structural Funds: Investing in Roma
10th June 2009 | Brussels, Belgium
Multidisciplinary event on the integration of the Roma to be held on Wednesday 10 June 2009.
The event will open with the photo exhibition Rroms by the Swiss photographer Yves Leresche. This will be followed by a debate on "Integration of minorities: The Rroma" and the contribution of the European Economic and Social Committee.
The purpose of the event is to give EU officials, civil society representatives and wider EU audiences a special opportunity to learn about the impact of selected EESC opinions on European, and in particular Rroma, integration. The event will bring together several actors whose experience and involvement in Rroma integration has been crucial in different sectors of society.
They will provide further concrete examples of how culture - as a belief system based on shared values - plays an essential role in communicating highly relevant European issues and raising awareness of the social condition of the Rroma in Europe.
