The ‘Making the Most of EU Funds for Roma’ programme in cooperation with the European Commission has launched a new initiative to establish a European network of local authorities which have implemented -or plan to implement- programmes supporting integration of vulnerable groups with a focus on Roma.

The European Commission has published the report of the Extraordinary meeting of the European Platform for Roma Inclusion which took place on 22nd March 2012 in Brussels. The meeting focused on the implementation of the National Roma Integration Strategies.

The EURoma Network held its half-yearly meeting in May in Bratislava hosted by the Slovak partners. It brought together over 55 participants to discuss a wide range of topics related to Roma and Structural Funds which are currently on the European agenda.

The first EURoma Report on Roma and Structural Funds is already available in Spanish. It provides a rigorous analysis of available data on the use of Structural Funds for the improvement of the situation of Roma.

This report gives a first outlook on the future cohesion policy post-2013 and presents a current assessment of regional disparities in the EU and highlighting the contributions that regions and cohesion policy can make towards achieving the Europe 2020 Strategy goals.
As a follow up to the High Level Event developed in October 2009 the Commission is organizing a seminar on how to facilitate the use of EU funds to support projects aiming at the integration of the Roma in September in Hungary and it will be a high level event in Romania in October.
