Structural Funds: Investing in Roma

The European Commission envisages implementing the European Parliament Pilot Project through a call for proposals, including three independent separate themes corresponding to the following fields of intervention: 1. early childhood education and care (ECEC); 2. self-employment and microcredit; 3. information and awareness raising.
Non-profit organisations, both NGOs and public agencies, interested in the call should submit their proposals by September 25, 2009 to the Directorate General for Regional Policy (DG REGIO) of the European Commission.
The European Commission is planning the implementation of the European Parliament Pilot Project through a call for proposals. The principal aim of the pilot project is to support innovative and integrated projects promoting the inclusion of Roma through educational, social, and economic activities, cross border cooperation and exchange of best practices while integrating existing (local, national, European and international) instruments.
The main focus will be on short and medium term results via a selection of projects promoting mainly:
The pilot project, with a budget of 5 million €, will be implemented via grants and services/technical assistance contracts. It is planned that all contracts will have been signed by the end of 2009.
The actions will be implemented throughout 2010-2011.
