5-8 October 2009
The seventh Open Days of the European Week of Regions and Cities was held between the 5th and 8th of October 2009 in Brussels. Conceived and developed by the EU Committee of the Regions and the European Commission Directorate-General for Regional Policy, the Open Days involved around 7,000 local, regional, national and European decision-makers and experts.
The key objective of the Open Days is to facilitate exchange, debate and networking among Europe’s experts and decision-makers in regional and local development from the public, private and financial sector. Under the overall headline “Global challenges, European responses”, all events were organised around four themes:
