High-level visit on Structural Funds and integration of Roma organised by European Commission

1st April 2011

On 23rd-25th May 2011, the European Commission will organise a high-level event on Structural Funds and Roma in Slovakia as a follow-up to the ones previously organised in Hungary (2009) and Romania (2010).

The overall  objective of the event is to mobilise the increased use of EU funds aiming to significantly improve the social inclusion of the marginalised Roma communities in Slovakia as well as to share experience on what has worked and how in the field of Roma Inclusion. It will gather representatives of EU institutions, national, regional and local authorities as well as civil society organisations and other stakeholders.

The event consists of 3 main parts:

• National conference in Bratislava – 23rd May
• Field visit in Eastern-Slovakia – 24th May
• Regional conference in Kosice – 25th May
