II Seminar organised by DG REGIO

Brussels, 25th June 2009

“Cohesion Policy, Structural Funds and Roma inclusion”

Katarína Mathernová, Deputy Director General for Regional Policy, called together different EC Directorates and Units as well as other international organisations, institutions and NGOs to share information on recent developments within the EC context regarding the social inclusion of the Roma and to announce new ones for the coming months (such as the launching of the Pilot Project on Roma inclusion beginning in July or the first round of High Level visits of Member Sates to Hungary in October).

In the second part of the seminar other actors were invited to present different initiatives and country experiences (Hungary, Greece, Spain, Roma Education Fund and Council of Europe).
