The Community Programme PROGRESS 2010 - Annual Work Plan in the field of non-discrimination

The Community Programme for Employment and Social Solidarity PROGRESS presents its annual plan of work with the funding priorities for 2010.

As in 2009, the European Commission will finance communication activities under the campaign "For Diversity. Against Discrimination", support projects from national authorities and finance EU level NGO networks.

Among key strategic challenges this community programme includes an special attention to some groups such as Roma, who face structural and systematic barriers that impede their full inclusion in society. To that end, the Progress programme considers as an operational objective greater capacity networks to promote and develop policies aiming at the inclusion and defense of the rights of Roma people.

In comparison with the previous year, gender equality and non-discrimination have increased the operating expenditure for 2010 (covering EU-27, EFTA-EEA and candidate countries)
