European Union Member States have committed to implementing a set of recommendations, following the European Commission’s proposal, to boost the economic and social integration of Roma communities.
Council adopts the Multiannual Financial Framework 2014-2020

On Dec. 2 the European Union’s Council adopted the regulation laying down the European Union's Multiannual Financial Framework for 2014-2020. This decision follows the adoption of the Cohesion Policy Package by the European Parliament on November 19th.

The Committee of the Regions adopted an opinion on Roma Integration Strategies

The Committee of the Regions recalls that local and regional governments must be offered more political and financial support to tackle discrimination and achieve full integration of Roma people in Europe’s communities.

EURoma publication to support the effective inclusion of Roma in the next programming period
The Guide “Tackling Roma needs in the 2014-2020 Structural Funds Programming Period" aims at providing useful tools to support Member States when addressing Roma inclusion in the planning process of the next programming period of the Structural Funds.
Annual Convention of the Platform against Poverty and Social Exclusion
The main focus of the debates was the implementation of the Social Investment Package, giving priority to social investment and the modernization of the welfare state in a moment when austerity measures are putting at risk the protection of groups in situations of poverty.
Study on "Housing investment ssupported by the European Regional Development Fund 2007-2013"

This study analyses how the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) is being used in housing projects in the 2007-2013 funding period. It also explores how ERDF has fostered integrated approaches which address simultaneously housing, energy and socio-economic needs of deprived communities. The study helps to inform the use of ERDF in the 2014-2020 programming period.

EURoma Network gathers in Sofia to debate how effective partnerships can support the use of the Structural Funds for Roma inclusion
The EURoma Network held its annual meeting on 19 and 20 September in Sofia, hosted by the Bulgarian partners of the Network. How to build effective partnerships for Roma inclusion under the Structural Funds was the core issue.
