The European Union (EU) Platform for Roma Inclusion, an open and flexible mechanism of governance organised jointly by the European Commission and the EU Presidency, held its second meeting on the 28th of September 2009 in Brussels.

The seventh Open Days of the European Week of Regions and Cities was held between the 5th and 8th of October 2009 in Brussels. Spanish and European experts participated in the International Seminar on “Health and the Roma Community, Analysis of the Situation in Europe” 1-2 October 2009, organised by the Ministry of Health and Social Policy and the Fundación Secretariado Gitano.

Report on the situation of the Roma migrants in Europe

The Fundamental Rights Agency of the European Union (FRA) has launched, on 9 November in Vienna, a comparative report that examines the migration of the Roma and freedom of movement within the European Union (EU) and provides an overview of the situation of Roma / Gypsies in the host countries. The report was conducted in 5 countries: France, Finland, Italy, Spain and the UK.

European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights launches report on “Housing conditions of Roma and Travellers in the European Union"
The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights launched its report, “Housing conditions of Roma and Travellers in the European Union” on the 20th of October in Brussels . The study confirms the dismal overall housing situation of the Roma and Travellers in the EU.
