Proposals for the future regulations of the Strucutral Funds and the potential of the amendment of the article 7 of ERDF regulations will be the core of the agenda of the upcoming EURoma's Management Committee Meeting to be held in Cracow, Poland (21st and 22nd October)
European Commission to assess Member States' use of EU funds for Roma integration

The European Commission established a Roma Task Force to assess Member States' use of European Union funds.

The proposal was part of an analysis on the situation of Roma in France and in Europe by Vice-President Viviane Reding, EU Justice Commissioner; László Andor, EU Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion; and Cecilia Malmström, EU Commissioner for Home Affairs.

A new European Commission publication: The European Social Fund and Roma
The relevance of using the Structural Funds for the Roma inclusion policies is highlighted in the study "The European Social Fund and Roma" which presents the interventions of the European Social Fund (ESF) for the Roma communities. It is one of a series of 21 studies describing what the ESF does and achieves on a range of policy topics or target groups.
Contribution of EU funds to the Roma inclusion: high level events

As a follow up to the High Level Event developed in October 2009 the Commission is organizing a seminar on how to facilitate the use of EU funds to support projects aiming at the integration of the Roma in September in Hungary and it will be a high level event in Romania in October.

Council Conclusions on advancing Roma Inclusion

The Council of the European Union in its 3019th Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council meeting, held in Luxembourg last 7th June adopted the conclusions on advancing Roma Inclusion.

Opinion on the future of the European Social Fund
Last 3rd of June 2010, the European Social Fund Committee in a meeting in Brussels expressed its wish to formulate an Opinion on the future of the European Social Fund (ESF) with a view to making a contribution to the future orientations of the ESF.
Third meeting of the Integrated Platform for Roma Inclusion and presentation of its road map

The third meeting of the “Integrated Platform for Roma Inclusion" took place on 17th June in Brussels organised by the Spanish Presidency and the European Commission.

ESF and Europe 2020 conference - June 2010
On 23-24 June 2010 EURoma Network attended the “Shaping the future of the ESF - ESF and Europe 2020” conference in Brussels. The conference was organised by the European Commission and brought together experts on ESF from public authorities, social partners, NGOs and academics.
Social Agenda dedicates its issue nş24 to "Promoting Roma inclusion: the way forward"
Social Agenda, the European Commission's magazine on employment and social affairs, in its issue 24 (July 2010) dedicates the core of the publication to the Roma inclusion. Different perspectives (socioeconomic, institutional, political, etc.) are presented in the special feature of this magazine.
