The European Commission is seeking views on the furst-ever EU Anti-Poverty Strategy, The strategy, which will be presented next year, aims to provide essential protection to people while reflecting on the multi-dimensional nature of poverty and its root causes.
The Commission is gathering, through a call for evidence and a public consultation, the views of citizens, experts and organisations to help shape the EU’s first Anti-Poverty Strategy. The strategy, which will be presented next year, aims to reflect on the multi-dimensional nature of poverty and its root causes and address poverty through a life cycle perspective, building on the social investment approach.
The Strategy forms part of the Commission’s wider commitment to tackling poverty and supporting social inclusion.and will also play a pivotal role in implementing the European Pillar of Social Rights, as the EU strives to reduce the number of people at risk of poverty by at least 15 million by 2030.
How to provide feedback?
European Commission seeks stakeholders’ views to help finetune this initiative through two different forms:
- A Call for evidence, aimed to understand the problem to be tackled and objectives to be met and explain why EU action is needed.
