9-10 November 2009 | Vienna, Austria

The conference, organised jointly by the EU Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA), the Commissioner for Human Rights (CHR) of the Council of Europe, the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities (HCNM) and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) forms part of the Joint Action of the FRA, CHR and the OSCE on Roma freedom of movement/migration, which was initiated in response to human rights violations of Roma in the context of migration and freedom of movement in 2008.

The conference will feature discussions of the findings of the FRA’s reports on Roma and freedom of movement and EU Minorities and Discrimination Survey (EU-MIDIS), as well as the work of the Council of Europe and the OSCE on Roma migration, which all provide evidence of high levels of discrimination against the Roma in this field. The conference aims to provide a forum for exchange of expertise and good practice.
